"A little party never killed nobody..."
Last week I teamed up with my friend Mikayla to create some amazing images (I wish we had champagne!) Mikayla hired me to take fun personality and fashion photos to show off her style and to use as personal marketing content. She's an event-planning major at BGSU and had everything planned out, so our shoot was a breeze (we did 7 outfits & 3 locations in 2.5 hours!)
To make this shoot happen, Mik decorated her bathtub with streamers and balloons from 5 Below. We moved everything else in the bathroom out of the way; towels on the rack, the trashcan, the rug, etc, just in case they got in the wide shots. We set up her ring light in the middle of the bathroom and angled it towards her face every time we adjusted. I went from standing on her toilet, sitting on her vanity, standing behind the ring light with the camera in the middle of it, and then crouched down at her eye level. We had a really small space but we made it work! We even pulled out a confetti popper, which didn't necessarily "pop", so I had to literally throw confetti at her face while shooting at a high-speed continuous mode. This shoot was seriously so fun, and I loved seeing Mik's bubbly and glam personality coming out in these photos!
These types of environmental/personality portraits are great for personal branding or influencer content. Who said headshots can't be pink and sparkly?!?
